Pictures from Vegas!

Since I haven't done much work on bikes or thinking about economics lately, here are some pictures from my Las Vegas trip!

From left to right that's Billy, me, my grandpa, and my uncle Bill at the famous Las Vegas, Nevada sign.  See the rest after the jump...

Here we are visiting the damn Hoover dam. They make waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many dam/damn puns there. It's quite a building, though.

The lake before Hoover dam is really low, so the big ring of white is formed from minerals that the water deposits.

This is a shot of a cactus garden that we stopped by at on our way back from our damn tour. When you're in Vegas, you're so surrounded by buildings and lights that it's easy to forget it's a desert out there.

I gave my camera to our waitress at a restaurant to take our picture, and this is the picture she took! I don't even know how she did that, but this is what Hunter S. Thompson thinks Vegas looks like...

This is a statue at Caesar's palace, which was my favorite casino. They had crazy Greek-style decorations everywhere. Pictures fail to describe it, you have to see it firsthand. You have to see all of Vegas firsthand to really experience it. It's a fucking crazy place.

One casino had umbrellas hanging everywhere, which was pretty sweet.

This is a picture from the inside of the Venetian, which had a miniature replica of a famous square in Venice. They even had a fake sky!

Here's Grandpa Ich enjoying himself at a buffet, which we ate tons of food at!

Here's Billy taking in the Vegas strip.

All in all, it was a great trip. We saw a jubilee show, Penn and Teller, and played some slots, blackjack, craps, and poker (not all at once, though!) I think a good time was had by all. I was excited to get away from my normal job for a few days, and it was good to see my grandpa, cousin and uncle.
